Dear Folks, Am a new member of this list, as well as a 2nd year
teacher, albeit an old one (was professional jeweler for 10 yrs., other
hats before that...). I teach Art 1, and Ceramics/Sculpture 1, and am
starting a new jewelry program at Coconino High School in Flagstaff,
AZ.
I would be very interested in corresponding with any teachers that are
teaching an Intro. to Jewelry class. My greatest need is to figure out
the minimal equipment requirements; what type of torches work best in
the classroom situation; what type of stations you may have set up; what
constitutes your curriculum. The curriculum I'm using is one I
developed for a Community College that had quite a bit of equipment
already. Just found out jewelry didn't qualify for vocational funds so
will have to make do with what I can scrounge together in the next two
months. But I want the first semester to generate enthusiasm for future
classes.
Any ideas, help, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely,
