I am a student in the art education department at Ohio State University.
I am interested in aesthetics and am currently developing a lesson plan
concerning the aesthetic experience and the everyday. More specifically,
how do our values and beliefs about what art is effect our aesthetic
response to our environments/suuroundings? We choose our meanings based
on what we know, and by doing so, we isolate these meanings in regards to
the objects they represent within our field of vision. Because objects
give evidence to meanings, it is my opinion that the reverse is also true,
that meanings give evidence to objects. I would appreciate any feedback on
these ideas that you have to offer, particularly concerning how to make
aesthetic issues more accessible and teachable.
Thank you,
Anne Marie Noge
