Thanks for your comments about not making art just fun and mindless. I
just returned very frustrated from my 10th grade advertising class where
the kids just wouldn't use their brains beacause "this is just art class."
An artist friend of mine recently made a piece called the "Holy Trinity of
Art: Hand Heart and Mind." Making art engages the whole person, including
the mind. Don't lower your ideals and expectations because kids are lazy.
As educators we need to push and prod.
