For one week the students will collect items normally disposed of in the
home. We will make the following suggestions: popsicle sticks, broken
toys and parts, tin cans, old cloth/ clothes, shoes, plastic, egg cartons,
meat trays, aluminum foil, string, rubber bands and the like.
These will be brought in and the students will have the freedom to create
assemblage or sculpture. The works can be abstract or recognizable

identify their piece and tell how they made it and what materials they

1. What would have happened to the items (garbage) if we didn't use
them in our artwork?
2. What are some other things we could do with garbage that would be more
friendly to our environment?
3. How do you feel now that you have made something nice out of something
