For our final project at the U of A we are doing a lesson on water
conservation. This is our questioning strategy for an artwork used in our
lesson plan. The unit deals with living in the desert. The artis is Ansel
Adams. The photo is titled "The White House Ruins-Canyon de Chelley."
1942. Our questions for the students grade 3 or 4.
1. Why would anyone build a house on the side of a cliff?
2. Some say that the desert was covered with water long ago. What do
you see in this picture that makes you think this area was covered in
water?
3. Why do you think people do not live here anymore?
4. Why do you think Mr. Adams took this picture?
