The preservation and renewal of the environment is ine life centered
issue that is being debated today. This topic includes reconstructing
actual sites in the environment prior to human intervention. An example
of three contemporary artists that crwate artwork in this manner are
Alan Sonfist, Mierle Ukeles, and Mel Chin. These artists may approach
artwork differently, but the message in all of them is clear-restoring
the balance of humanity and nature.
