Kids Congress on Art
November 14, 1997
The Getty Center
Los Angeles, California

Sponsored by the Getty Education Institute for the Arts.

The Kids Congress on Art, the culmination of the Wave Your Banner!
national art project (check the online galleries on ArtsEdNet to see the
results:http://www.artsednet.getty.edu/education/teacherartexchange/Browsing/Wave/index.html), brings middle school students together with community leaders,
sculptors, painters, performers, educators, and elected officials to
celebrate and champion the importance of art in young people's lives.
After 51 banners were selected to fly at the Getty Center during its
opening year, each selected classroom chose a delegate to represent
their community at the Kids Congress.

We invite you to be a part of this gathering via the World Wide Web.

To listen to the RealAudio broadcast on Friday, November 14, you need
to install the free RealAudio Player on your computer, if you don't already
have it. For more details on how to do this, check the instructions for
downloading the RealAudio Player on ArtsEdNet.

(Some time afterwards, we'll provide RealAudio files of the day's
proceedings, so you can find out what happened.)

We hope you'll enjoy listening in on the Kids Congress!
