Hi again , I have to comment on the Pinkerton Elementary program from
the Art And Ecology web site.
I was attracted to this program for one teacher, Dr. Garber,
pointed it out to me and that I should comment on this one.
The thing that intrgues me about this leason is that it provides
interaction for students with the eviroment and that it pares up students
with artists around the world to exchange creative gifts. I think this
lesson teaches students about life-centered issues by teaching them how to
work together and it teaches students about ecology by teaching that the
world community is dependent on the enviroment.
Some of the adaptations I would make for my own classroom is the
interaction with the eviroment and paring up students with artist from
around the world to exchange creative gifts. I would integrate this lesson
with teaching in another subject area by teaching about the different wild
lifeie insects.birds, fish ect... which is applicable to mybe biology or
some type of earth science.
