New on ArtsEdNet - The Art of John Biggers

Hi, I would like to invite you to join in a new ArtsEdNet
discussion program starting today. Nancy Walkup will lead a
discussion about the The Art of John Biggers, a very well
known African American artist and art educator. Please visit
the fabulous exhibition about John Biggers that Nancy
developed - now posted on the ArtsEdNet web site
(www.artsednet.getty.edu). It features a large image gallery
of Biggers's work, contextual information about the work,
seven lessons developed by Nancy, an interactive symbol
search, and associated resources.

Nancy will be moderating a discussion on ArtsEdNet Talk
about Biggers's work and its use in the classroom. John
Biggers himself will be available to answer questions you
submit. As with many of our visiting artists what this really
means is that Nancy will fax him your questions, he will fax
her back and she will post his responses on ArtsEdNet Talk.
Dr. Biggers has been very helpful so far and has expressed
great interest in answering questions from you all.

I hope you enjoy this program. It is the first of many that we
will be posting in the next few months.
