Hello! We just wanted to share with you guys the topic we chose
for our final project. Claudia Lopez and I are going to be using the
Vietnam Memorial as our main focus for our teaching lesson. We are going
to make this lesson fit into the 5th grade level. The reason we chose this
particular work of art is because we will be learning about the Vietnam
War for our history class. Furthermore, we will be learning about other
types of environmental design so they can have a little bit of background
in order to fully appreciate the Vietnam Memorial itself.
We will use the Vietnam Memorial to teach kids about environmental
design. The art studio project we will do will consist of a contest in
which the kids will do their own drawing, model or painting. We will
provide kids with a big array of materials that will allow the students to
choose what type of art they like best and to explore the different
effects certain media have in the overall effect of an artwork. The best
thing about this is that they will be able to experience their creative
potential and become involved in the art world and their surroundings.
If you have any comments or further suggestions feel free to write
to us. We would love to hear from you.
Have a good day! Bye!
Haydee and Claudia
