lisa, thanks for the feedback. i guess that i did word that question a bit negatively. In the situation of Maya Lin's Vietnam Memorial i feel that if her work was chosen by a jury, she has no obligation to change her piece. It is frustrating for me that an artist is expected to change their work in order to satisfy public outcry. With all of this said, I feel that when an artist committs to producing a public work, they should allways keep a vision of the community in mind. Thanks, and keep writing
