I would like to respond to the question, what ecological issues are
important in your community?

There are several ecological issues that are important in the city of
Tucson. Their is a big emphasis on CAP water and if it should be used as
our main source of drinking water. We currently recieve our water from the
Colorado
River but why don't we drink CAP water like other parts of Arizona and
California do.
The issue of should Tucson use CAP water is being voted upon soon in the
next election. Tucson is also concerned with
the issue of recycling as a way of helping the enviorment and the
community. There are various organizations in Tucson and in the
University
that deal with recycling and how it could better our community. Although
I do not know much
information about this topic, I do know that their is an ecological issue
about Mount Graham and the red squirlls that live in that area. The big
questuion is, should telescopes be build on Mount Graham even though it is
invading and disturbing the natural habit of these animals?
