I am a Elem. (1-5) art teacher. I have 940 students per week and I’m
split between two schools 2 1/2 days at each with $460 to spend per
year, split between my schools. That comes to $.01 per child per week.
This is standard in my system. A lot
of my time is spent finding ways to get money for my programs, writing
grants etc. The biggest project I have tried was a clay wall 22’ high
and 45’ long using 4,000 lbs. of clay. It turned out great! It’s
always been a tough job but this year is a new challenge. I have to use
the SAT 9 test skills to plan my art lessons. I resent the time it’s
taking to do this. Are any of
your schools taking this test? If so how has it made your art classes
different? I have been teaching for 8 years, and I’m sure I can do
this but, I’m having a few problems. I just got a computer and I’m now
“connected” any tips for researching lesson plans or time saving tips?
What is the world of art teachers like out there? ..... Kay
