Dear Carol,
The first person that comes to mind about graffiti art is Keith Haring
I don't have any book in front of me right now but I think he's from either
NY or Philly. Depending on the age of the students a show based from a boy
from Philly is Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, character Will Smith. In his viedo
"Parents Just Don't Understand", and the introduction to the earlier
episodes of the show they show a graffiti background that might be of some
use in the lesson as far as bringing it to the level of the students time
period.
