One of my students moved here from China about 5 years ago. We celebrated his
becoming a U.S. citizen last year. When asked about your questions, he told
me that white is the color people wear in mourning and is a symbol of death.
The rabbit is a sign of good luck or fortune. He also added that a jade
rabbit is really special - one from heaven.
