One of my favorite drawings--actually the 8th graders favorites is to draw
the ninja turtles and their associates. The turtles aren't great but some
of those insect-alien-monster types are terrific. The kids do huge
drawings with a quick gesture drawing first to get proportions then
unbelieveable details. The thing that cracks me up is that I hand them
each a doll out of a bag--no complaining--no strong-armed tactics--they
have to use what they draw--they all say "Oh I remember these" like they
weren't just playing with them last week! Sid
