RE: Copy of: Help spell art movements

I have recently finished reading a superb book called Art and Physics by Leonard
Shlain. Being an art teacher but by no means a scientist I was a little
apprehensive, but persevered.... I cannot recommend it too highly.....
intruiging, controversial, enlightening, etc.etc.
My only concern.... in one section of the book there appears a list of various
art movements, as follows....
"Beginning with Fauvism, Cubism, and futurism, and continuing through
Expressionism, suprematism, Dadaism, and surrealism,........"
I have asked other art teachers, the English department in my school, the
special education department, in fact anyone who I thought may be interested,
but I cannot find THE answer...... lots of suggestions, none of which made total
sense, so is there ANYONE out there who can really help, who KNOWS.... WHY are
some of these art movements graced with a capital letter (upper case) and some
are lowly enough to warrant a lower case letter? If I knew the address of Mr.
Shlain then I would write directly.... my last effort will be the publisher, but
I would rather send this into Cyberspace and hope.......
For those interested the full details of this superb book follow
