As I was cleaning up drips of paint from the floor near a 6 year old painter
(for what felt like the twentieth time) and feeling very annoyed, the young
man said to me "What's wrong?". I answered "I asked you to be careful not
to spill the paint on the floor, but you're not even trying". He said, very
calmly "I am trying. I just don't always succeed."
Out of the mouths of babes...needless to say, I had a much needed reality
shift. What an insightful child. HE taught ME.
