To Teri: you said
>Hi All!
>I get to school very early and have 2 periods to get ready for my day. I
love
>to have music to listen to during this time. I also play music for my>
>students--they have such eclectic taste--alot like mine. Anyway, I would
like
>to hear what the group "out there" enjoys listening to--my current faves
are
>Dead Can Dance "Spiritchaser" and Loreena Mckennit "The Mask and the
Mirror".
> Oldies get lots of favor during class time--"60s stuff and 70's (Abba is a
>big fave) and even '80s groups. I draw the line at gangster rap--too many
>negatives. We play a local jazz station sometimes and several kids love
swing
>music--they even started a swing music club!! I love world music and play a
>lot of it. Offra Haza, Celtic, etc. Lets hear from you--what moves ya!!
>Teri Brudnak
>Corona del Mar High School
>Newport Beach, CA.

I, too, love having music in the classroom... Once I had some "slow" music
playing and the kids (second graders) asked me to put on something more
lively....I said.."How about Elvis Presley" and they all looked at me with a
blank look and said "Who's Elvis Presley?" ! Boy, did I feel old all of a
sudden!!!!

Ciao, Marilyn Juda-Orlandi
