For Mary Jane Young,

My suggestion would be to get the people in the nursing home as involved as
possible even if it just means asking their opinions and getting them to
vote on a subject matter....after all its them that are going to be looking
at it all day....If they are bed-ridden they can still give suggestions of a
theme and I think its important they feel a part of the project....In fact,
why don't you assign a student to each resident to go and personally find
out what they think and maybe help them to fill in a questionnaire, or
something...and assess how that particular resident could contribute to the
project....the residents of the nursing home, I am sure would love the
attention and the students would become more sensitive to problems of the
elderly etc....perhaps some friendships could even result....

In a project like this, I tend to think its not the final product that is
important but the process and what it can bring to students and residents of
the nursing home in the way of human relationships....

Let us know how it goes.

Ciao,
Marilyn Juda-Orlandi
