Sharon,
Some beginning projects I have done in slab building are simple weed-pots,
composed of a torn slab with a simple pocket affixed to its front...you can
use stamps, or any other textural device with this one, and support the
pocket itself with newspaper while it firms up (don't forget a nail hole for
hanging!) How about multiple pockets for mail, etc? Another one...wind
chimes. Just cut out the seperate chimes, texture and fire when dry. Tiles
always work...so do closed forms, where you put three or four slabs together
in an airtight "football", paddle and burnish into shape, add neck , let get
leather hard and then pierce. That one's a little harder, but I do it with
high school kids. Simple picture frames; focus on texture.

How's that? Need more?

Sandy
