Hi, everybody....I've been trying to find a GREAT tempera paint that has
good color potential in the blues and reds to mix up to a fabulous purple.
(I teach middle school.) I've tried several brands (NASCO and Crayola are a
few) and I seem to be getting more "mud" colors and student frustration.
I've heard about JAZZ brand and am going to try that this coming week. BTW,
can you order JAZZ brand direct from the company instead of going through a
store? Does anyone know if they have a catalog or how to get in touch with
them or if this brand comes in gallon containers (with possibly "pump"
tops)? I think they are located further south of me down near LA. I
understand you can get JAZZ in gloss, matte, transparent, metallic and
irredesent (sp?) colors, right?

Another question! I vaguely remember (ALL of my rememberings are vague!)
someone talking.....oops!, we're having a small earthquake at this very
second!!!!.....aaahhhhh, all gone!....on the listserve about mixing
dishwashing soap with tempera for face painting. Will this really work? I
know you can add VANO starch to tempera for fingerpainting.

Eagerly awaiting for all my artsed friends to share their secrets!!!!!
