I just got back from our state art conference where I presented a session on weaving with elementary level and opened my email to find my first proposal to a national was also accepted. Maybe we have all inspired each other on the art exchange! My session is The ABCs of Teaching Art to Kindergarteners-Lesson plans using books, music, movement - teach art and reading! I had to go back to look up the title. Who remembers what we were thinking in July! So I hope to see some of you there. I'm a midwest girl at heart since I grew up in LaCrosse,Wi but have been living in S.C. since 1976. Thanks to all who gave me travel advice for San Francisco. We had a great time-my daughter finished her first marathon in a really good time and we visited several museums, Muir Woods, Alcatraz, rode the cable cars, walked a lot of hills and took lots of photos for my 1st graders unit on houses. A great trip and we even had great weather.
see you in Mlps!! BTW I asked my principal if I could go (I had to pay for all my state conference expenses myself and I'll have to pay for this also- she said , sure but only if I can go too- I bet that doesn't mean she is planning on funding it!! Our budget is so tight the state is trying to pass a 4 day school week)
