Here is what is good about train wrecks:

Kids see that teachers (people) are humans and that it is natural to
have mistakes.

Kids do real problem solving!

And if you are lucky....there is a happy accident that sends you
down a new path, one you might never have noticed. Wow! Train
wrecks!
