Oh, Ann...I so understand where you are coming from re having to do the
cutouts til you die, haha. I felt that way about my papier mache
chairs. We did them for 5 years in a row and I stopped them 3 years
ago. Kids are STILL disappointed that we aren't doing them anymore. I
just couldn't do it anymore...mainly the taping off and papering part.
For some of them, they were finished pretty quickly, for others it was
sheer torture to get the tape and paper on smoothly. The end products
were SOOOOOO creative and eye popping and wonderful, but it took more
than a quarter to do them!!!! I kept seeing new things I wanted to do,
and of course, as long as I was doing the chairs, there was no way I
could add much to the curriculum. So, one year, I just stopped them.
Like I said, I'm still catching it for stopping them. Ah, la vie d
l'arte professor! C'est tres complique!
