Wow, thanks to all of you. My teaching/grading style matches most of what each of you described, including the participation grade factor and the independent study. I appreciate your input very much. I have used GradeQuick but only at the end of term, agreeing with at least one of you that recording assignment grades on paper during the term is much friendlier. I look forward to the good things some of you have described, and only hope that I am not too far behind in the techno race to catch up. J.
