Dear Art Educators,

Many of you do Native amiericna inspired ceramics this
time of year.... Here are some links to European
effigies that will enchance your unit.

I found these looking for info on "bear baiting jug"
http://www.woolleyandwallis.co.uk/Catalogues/PG070904/page17.htm
(scroll down)

http://www.chipstone.org/collections/asmcatalog/asmcat79.html

This is what sparked my interest:
http://decorativearts.library.wisc.edu/images.html
click search the collection - then go to second page
of ceramics. There are two that come up in the first
few pages of the Chipstone Collection.

What exactly is a bear baiting jug? Get a book on
Staffordshire style pottery and report back to us.

Decorative Art Library (Chipstone Collection) will be
linked on my Arts and Crafts page.

Regards,

Judy Decker
