Re: Etiquette for conference

Date: Wed Nov 12 2003 - 18:50:42 PST

I just got back from the OAEA and I thought people were polite. A couple of the lectures I went to were crowded. Sometimes there is a seat up near the front in the middle of the row which no one will take because they don't want to be rude. I'll take that seat because I've had osteoarthritis in my feet for 6 years (even thought I'm only 31)and its hard for me to stand for a long time. I know some people probablly think I'm rude but I don't care because they don't know me or why I think I need to sit down.

As for handouts, I think the OAEA has a great idea. Theys sell a notebook of all the convention handouts for $35 (to cover printing costs). They send it a couple months after the convention. I got one last year and it was well worth it. A great resource. Maybe in the future they will burn it to CD.
