Re: TX Conference

Date: Mon Nov 10 2003 - 20:06:03 PST

It was my first time to a conference and I so enjoyed it. It was so cool to
meet Jim McNeil and do the powerpoint workshop with him. After our winter break
in December, I'm going to do some animation with my 5th grade art club.
I thought the workshops were wonderful, even though one I was looking forward
to was cancelled. Since I live close to Dallas, I skipped the museum tours.
I see them all the time.
I was talking today with my music teacher and we're going to plan a living
painting for the spring. She's really excited!
There is one area that I thought could use some more attention and that's
project geared towards kindergarten. So many of us in Texas now have kdg full
time and I know it's a challenge for some to come up with ideas.
I loved William Cochran's art and his story was very moving. I told my 5th
grade students about him and told them I showed him photos of the mural we just
finished at our school. I just happened to have some on the disk in my camera.
They were impressed!
