We used marbles in the bottom of pinch pots....very fun!!! Never thought to use any other metals. I know of a person who fired work with banana peels in the work. Made a kind of brownish w/some black color. Almost an aged finish...with a bit of a sheen (not really shiny, but not dull either). I thought it was a little strange...but it looked interesting!!!
