I think it matters tremendously what dept it is taught in. I have had tech
teachers come to me asking for how an artist looks at it. The depth of
thought in photography history alone is tremendously interesting and
profound, let alone all the expressive things that are being done with it. I
feel sorry for students who are only tauaght the tech side. But it is not
something I myself could encapsulate and pass on to these more techhie
friends.
