How about this kooky idea? Remember how you make the origami duck in the
water with a square folded into a napkin fold, then opened up to make a kite
fold, then folded together and folding the 'top of the sail on a sailboat' to
make the birds beak.
Well, we didn't fold the bottom up for the ducks body. Instead, I showed
them how to make numerous feathers with a bunch of colored construction paper
to glue on and I gave them red for the gobbles to glue. The last thing was to
break red party toothpicks into 'L's" for the legs.
I gave them black eyed peas for the eyes. One third grader made the
turkey stand on toothpicks!
What a laugh.
