I had great results with kindergarten winter trees.
They trace their hands and arms. Loose a finger or two and color the tree
trunk brown adding branches in "y" shapes.
Then they wash the sky with lt. blue paint creating a resist.
Next time, paint with heavy white tempra the drifts of snow that rest in
the trees (not below the branches lol) and on the ground. You can
sprinkle some silver glitter to brighten but not much.
It makes an award winning scene.
