mat board scraps

Dear Friends,
I just picked up a huge load of mat board scraps of all sizes and colors. It
took 6 kids to unload my van! Do any of you have a good project to do with
them at the high school level. I have had them draw symbols or intitials on
the dark board and use an x-acto to peel off the negative space. I've used
them for collages and had them build up layers and paint over them, but I'm
looking for something new. I was thinking about making constructions but I'm
not sure how to proceed.
