>Does anyone remember the days when kids just behaved--period? general, two parent families; attendance at church and faith
common and expected/assumed. Catholics didn't date Lutherans, and vice
versa. Neighbors looked out for your kids and each other. The family name
was important. If your teacher clobbered you or slammed you up against the
lockers and you went home to tell dad...then dad clobbered you worse for
bringing shame to the family name.

Also...there was much less tolerance for weaknesses. Less understanding for
suffering from things like asthma. You simply were considered a woose, and
an asthma attack while climbing stairs was likely to find kids dumping your
books all over. Less sympathy for special needs. Less for racial inequity.
Less opportunity for girls in athletics and for women in general.
Yep....I remember those days.
