Need art activity for staff meeting!

Date: Mon Nov 04 2002 - 20:53:23 PST

The principal asked me if I would lead an art activity at the
next staff meeting. Sure, says me! Then think... what to do??!
I thought first of doing CD tops. I have some made, just need
markers, bring in the top collection. All set.
Now I learn that this is to be a community-building activity...
something akin to the stress-challenge ropes course we
did at our inservice, but from a different perspective.
Teamwork, trust, collaborative... that kind of thing.
OK... now what? Another factor is time - 20 minutes.
Another factor is prep. I don't want to spend hours getting
ready for this 20 minute activity, and I've just been diagnosed
with a carpal tunnel injury (paper cutter marathon), so I'm
trying to take it easy with preps this week.
So far the only thing I've come up with is a Cadavre Exquis -
(a parlor game played by french artists in 1920s).
In the Sept/Oct issue of Somerset Studio there is a spread
by a high school teacher using this collaborative collage
technique. She used magazines for the collage work to
wonderful effect. The only other thing I can think of is some
kind of teamwork activity - making a kinetic sculpture or somesuch.
Anybody have any ideas or suggestions for me?
Thanks in advance!
