Try setting your kiln on high briefly. ALl of your element wires should
be lit up with heat in a few minutes. Peek at them in a dark room to see
if they are all functioning. If your element wires are all funcitoning,
it is most likely that you just need to add more time to your original
time setting for the kiln. Say you set it for 6 hours...plan to be there
at the end of the six hours. If the cones still have not gone down, just
turn the dial to a couple of more hours, with all of the elements on
(high) and stay around til it drops. Next time, you will just know to add
some more time to the safety timer. The temperature in the room wouldn't
have anything to do with it. Peephole plugs will definitely speed things
up. Don't plug up the top peephole, though.
