Sal, I apologize if the feedback about your site,
http://www.pienschke.freehomepage.com/, didn't address the specific areas
that you wanted feedback in. My feedback about it content wise- loaded with
content, interesting lessons, active links (from what I can see), and I
particularly liked the "Why art?" advocacy page. The critters were cute!
Design wise- I like the consistent simple background throughout the site
rather than different looks throughout. Black text on white is a good size.
Too many fonts, though. I'd keep it all to serif types (like Times New
Roman) or sans serif types (like Arial which I think are easier to read on
the web). The images are decent sizes so it didn't take long to download.
You should really re-consider those pop adds even if your administrators
aren't concerned with it yet. Just in the first 3 pages, I got these adds
in a new window: "Online Casinos," "FREE Satellite TV System + FREE Digital
Recorder," and "$1100 Travel Shopping Spree."
This is not only a design concern (because it's distracting and takes away
from the content) but it may become a legal issue. From my school site, I
don't link to any sites (educational, artistic, whatever) that contain
pop-up ads, banners, or links to other sites that may sell, gamble, or
contain controversial themes. I understand your frustrations in something
you can't control. I would however try to look for other alternatives to
hosting a site.
Please don't allow some honest feedback result in your lost of a great
resource like this listserv. As an artist yourself, you should appreciate
the criticism even when it's not what you wanted to hear.

So far I've gotten complaints about pop up ads. ....I am seriously
considering unsubscribing from the list. So anyway, have a good
