Concerning State Tests in Texas...
Yes that's true sometimes. Remember this is a basic test. The average kid
should pass it. Special Ed kids are TASS excempt sometimes...I have seen the
slowest kids with the right kind of teacher help, pass the TASS. Other
tests such as Science and SS are in the works. Teachers have gotten a bum
rap the past several years and this is one way to gain credibility. Kids
should be able to read and write at a basic level of compentancy. Do I get
annoyed that budgets etc seem to get preferential treatments if you can
relate it to TASS...Of course..and yes...it is a driving force. Our school
certainly teaches more then the TASS test. I get fairly good support.
