Re: Clay Management Needed!

Date: Mon Nov 19 2001 - 17:04:33 PST

I do clay projects with K through 5th grade. This year Kindergarten and 1st
are doing pinch pots. 2nd and 3rd and doing coil pots. 4th is clay masks and
5th are pinch pot wind chimes. I never do more than one grade at a time
because of storage. I have at least 60 kids in each grade. 5th grade is the
only grade that gets to use glaze. The rest paint theirs after firing and
then I may or may not coat them with a clear varnish. I suggest starting
with Kinders because anything you do is fine with them. I have wet rags
ready for hand cleaning. No one gets to wash their hands in art because I
can't have 22 kids at the sinks. It would take too much time and create a
huge mess.

Hope this helps!
