Creative Christmas Challenge

Christmas may be the easiest and overdone theme in
many school art classes. Although there are a host of
ideas out there, mostly craft related, for teachers to
try, they all end as clones. This seems to happen
most in the primary grades where you can see row upon
row of identical Santas.
Alright let's use some imagination and creativity
here. Instead of having a pattern of look alike Santas
allow for some individual choices for the students to
make. How about changing something about Santa, give
him a new look. How many different ways can be used
for giving Santa a beard. How about a beard make out
of feathers, or styrofoam packing, or popcorn. Allow
students to be selective give them something to be
creative about instead of always following instruction.
