I saw a show a couple of weeks ago that had really wonderful ceramic
sculptures. The teacher had the students make two everyday objects out of
clay--ie a toaster and a pair of scissors. They could use any
construction technique they chose. Then they cut up the two projects into
pieces--tough to do--and reassembled them into one piece. They were
fabulous. They didn't resemble the original pieces and were so
innovative--lots of open spaces. REally cool. Sid
