Subject: Art Across America -home again!!!

HI all,
I know some of you are familiar with this project and some not and some who
were involved a few years ago are not even on the list serve anymore! But
Art Across America is back home in Greenfield Wis. where it began in
February 1999. The package of student artwork arrived this morning, but I
promised the students who originally worked on the project that I would not
open the box till they meet with me next Tuesday. The students who worked on
Art Across America are now juniors , but are coming back to the middle
school to open the package. Our community newspaper will also be there for a
photo and story.
Wow , what a trip it has been!. Getting lost on it's way to Iceland ( we
miss you Rosa!), keeping it on schedule, teachers forgetting to tell me if
they every received it, a teacher makes a video of the project and a teacher
loses it, someone forgets to mail it and goes on vacation( now it is way off
schedule!), people moved , changed e- mail address or left Artsednet,
teachers losing the mailing addresses and more.
It has been wonderful sharing this student art from across the country and
meeting( through the net and phone calls) so many art teachers!
THANK -YOU to everyone that participated! IF you really want the art back
write me and let me know. I don't know if I will do it again, When a
package is on the road for 2 years , the hard part was when people moved
,lost things or didn't e- mail me to let me know where the package was. I
don't' think I could of shortened the time of keeping the package- 3 weeks.
I also learned I would shrink wrap every thing if I had the money to keep it
form getting dog- eared.
Again , thanks everyone for giving me the opportunity to do this display!
MaryB
