    B-CLAD = Bi-Lingual Cultural Language and Academic Development. In
California, teachers are required to pass a test or complete coursework
(about 12 units) to obtain a CLAD or B-CLAD certificate. This is due to the
multicultural student population in the public schools with such a high
percentage of students who don't have English as their first language.
