Speaking of bats, my daughter woke in the night to discover that a bat was
in her bedroom. No evidence of a bite, etc. but we found out quite by
acccident ( our neighbor is a MD with specialty in infectious diseases) that
she should recieve the rabies vaccine. (We didn't keep the bat...trapped it
with towel and let it go out the window...should have kept it, I
guess)......Reasons for vaccine are that a bat bite cannot always be seen
afterwards or felt if a person is sleeping. Vaccine cost hundreds of dollars
but insurance paid......about 5 shots spread out over a few weeks I think.
Not the horrific deal we used to hear about.
