summer vacation

Have any of you ever done a house exchange in Italy or France. I'd love to
take my family somewhere this summer for 2-3 weeks. I live 1/2 hour outside
of New York City so it might be appealing to another family. Or I'd just
rent a house without an exchange. Anyone have any information? My children
are 10 and 14.
