Several schools in our district (I am doing this also this year) have a
portfolio day in Jan or early spring.

On portfolio day, parents are invited in to the last half of the class.
Students make a presentation and parents take home all work completed to that
date. I am doing my portfolio day in March to correspond to the first art
grade the students receive! YES..that was not a typo. Our students in Ele
only get 2 art grades a year, (we only send out three progress reports aka
grade cards a year) The first art grade is not until March, the second is
the last report card given.
