Do you have a PTA or a student honor society or any clubs that could help?
Donna
>I have art shows with a piece of art work from each student also and accomplish this by having each class do a certain project and displaying as a group-ie-one class might display watercolor paintings, another class might have card weaving on display. Except for Kindergarten, I have the kids fill out their own name tags, with a little bit about their art, and have signs with objectives and learning by each class project. We usually separate the school into K-1/ :2-3://and 4-5 for three separate shows and the music teacher has these grades perform for a FINE ARTS EVENING-that way the parking lot is not so congested and the parents aren't captive listening to everyone sing-usually listen to kids sing and then go and view the art show. Another bright idea we do is on alternate years we have a MUSICART CELEBRATION which involves having 6 artists in cafeteria doing mini art projects and 6 musicians-storytellers-poets in stations in classrooms doing their things and families wander around doing the art and enjoyi
ng the music-this frees us up from all that endless mounting.
