1 cup boiling water
While water is boiling make a roux of ½ cup cold water
and ½ cup cornstarch.
Add roux to the boiling water.
Remove from the heat and Stir-Stir-Stir.
Add white glue, such as Elmer's: 50/50, or 2/3 starch to 1/3 glue
This paste keeps for two or three months, if refrigerated.
Spread in two even, thin coats, it will adhere decorated papers to cardboard
You can double and triple the recipe.
I find that if you use two thin coats, letting the paper relax in-between for
a minute or two you get papers that aren't wrinkly and buckled. I also use a
bone folder (or tongue depressor to rub the papers onto the cardboard.
