My experience with clay tools leads me to suggest you have students make their
own.
A paper clip half stuck into the eraser end of a pencil, pop sicle sticks can
be shaped and notched, stamps can be made from clay and fired. Each student
can make a signature or potters mark. Shells, tree bark, and all kinds of
found materials make work well.
